Configure default Team permissions
Use default Team permissions to configure access for the audiences listed in the Team's Permissions panel. Review these settings alongside individual member permissions when deciding who should be able to view, comment on, edit or administer your organisation's Team.
For background on Team membership and permission levels, see How Teams and permissions work in Simana.
Before you start
- You need Admin access to your organisation's Team.
- Agree which people should receive each level of access before changing the defaults.
Important: Default permissions can affect multiple people. Check the intended audience before enabling a permission, especially Admin.
1. Open default permissions
- In Manage organisation, select the cog beside Team.
- Expand Features.
- Find Permissions and select its cog to open Permissions.
The Permissions feature is enabled in the Bayhealth example. Its help text explains that enabling it makes the Team a permission boundary: the Team's member and default permissions determine access for the Team and its descendants, rather than inheriting permission checks from the nearest ancestor boundary.
Important: Enabling or disabling the Permissions feature changes how access is determined. Do not treat it as a switch that merely shows or hides the settings panel.
2. Set the required permissions
- Find the relevant audience section.
- Use its switches to configure View, Comment, Edit and Admin.
- Check any disabled switches for a dependency explanation.
The member permission controls describe View as looking at content, Edit as changing content, and Admin as controlling the Team and its permissions.
