Understanding Stories

Collaboration and sharing is essential in spreading improvement success and accelerating learning for all.

New to Simana is ‘Stories’ – this new feature allows anyone to tell their own improvement story to share with colleagues or the wider community.  The focus of reporting on improvement work is often on the progress or outcomes of the project.  Stories gives the opportunity to bring your work to life with more emotion and imagination by combining traditional text write-up with charts, images, videos and more.

A story doesn’t have to be a write up of a complete project, it could just document one element of interest that you want to share, or perhaps a rapid cycle of improvement that you’ve implemented. It might document a successful improvement, or (equally as important) failure, or just an observation you believe is worthy of sharing to help others learn.

Ideas for when to use stories would be:

  • Sharing the results of an improvement effort

  • Summarising an experience

  • Raising awareness of a subject

  • Documenting everyday improvements

Learning from others has never been easier – just search for a topic, keyword or apply custom filters to find the Stories of interest. If you like what you see, why not ‘clap it’ to show your appreciation!
